The internet.

Is pissing me off again. I am currently on my dads computer because not only is my lappy not connecting to my paretns internet (as it hasn't since august) it is also no longer connecting to my neighbors that I've been bumming off of. :( LAME-SAUCE! AT least my car should be in working order again... I drove it this mornind and it sound bead, but drove okay. My dads doing his follow-up spin in my car to make sure she is tip-top!

And John's car is working again. Turns out he blew out a spark plug and drove a ticking-time bomb for the couple of blocks he rose it to the mechanic. But she's also fixed! And he's getting his THIRD voyager... the damn touch screens keep dying on him. Good times.

Christmas!

It such a great day so far! Nice and mellow, got EXACTLY what I wanted already (my underwater camera :) even though the best things are usually in my stocking (which is un-opened). Awesome breakfast of monkey bread, using my new, optical mouse with scroll button to post this too. And Flip is all kinds of happy and tired! Super awesome! Although I am starting to feel rather unfortunate, not really sure why, maybe I'll go lay down. But it's just one more thing to add to the list of ails I've been feeling lately, so I'll be making an appointment on Monday. Yay insurance!

Chrsitmas eve!

I bought the last few books last night at work. Then I wrapped the ones that don't belong to John's friends because we're going to do that together on Saturday, or Friday if we're bored. I have 1.25 amigurumi's to finish.... so close! Then one more scarf that I plan on doing most of christmas day (at least what I don't do today on it). And then today I am making my famous chocolate covered pretzels so I should be handing out presents the 26th! (or 25th if you want to venture over to my house for a bit) Good times! I can't wait to post the pictures of the stuff I've been making! (I wont do it yet, because I don't want there to be any chance of someone seeing their gift! Ahahah!)

5 more days!

Thats how much time I have to finish a scarf, start and finish two more amigurumi, make and bake 2 different kinds of cookies, peanut butter fudge and chocolate covered pretzels, buy gifts for 2 more friends and one for the family white elephant and wrap it all up! I think I have enough time, but then I am always mistaking how long knitting and crocheting something will take me. But I can rest assured that at least me baking should be done today. :)

Arg!

I really want to punch John's advisory in the nads, because he's being a prick about John's classes. Stop ruining my life San Bernardino!

He did it!

Kind of. My guy walked yesterday, and it was quite the occasion as both parents and both grandmas flew in from out of town. There were 15 of us at dinner, we went to Soup Plantation (which has turned into our restaurant of choice, incidentally.) And then his friends and I went with him to see New Moon. (and man... that movies just knows how to push all my buttons) And the day was great! There were some tears (proud ones to be sure) from his family, everyone is super proud of him. He (in march) will officially join the first in my generation to graduate club! Exciting! And I've been thoroughly approved of by both grandmas, and one ever went as far to congratulate me because I had just as much to do with him graduating as he did! I love that lady. She's a laugh-riot. But I'm also very proud of him and am happy to see things starting to fall into place for the both of us! Appartment hunting, here I come! :)

FREAK OUT!

Now if only shouting that at the top of my lungs turned me into not-your-sun-of-the-mill super hero instead of actually feeling stressed, I'd be set! Seriously.

Rain!

Is wonderful. My camera needs more batteries, otherwise I would have some lovely photos for you! I was actually sent home from work #1 because we couldn't open, due to our inability to see the bottom of the pool. I don't think any of us were terribly disappointed. I wasn't at least, we spent some time waiting to see if the rain would let up looking at Wedinator and People of Walmart. Good times. I'm heading off to work #2 here in an hour or so, and I have made up a shopping list of things to buy for Christmas. (getting them all out of the way and using my discount to do it! hecks yeah!)

I just upload the pictures from my camera to my lappy, and discovered two separate trips to shop for dresses on there. I don't know about anyone else, but if I'm shopping for cloths on my own and I am having a difficult time deciding between items, I take pictures on my digital so I can see and compare them next to each other better then switching between the two garments. Maybe it's just a strange habit I have, but it halps me immensely! Good times.

ARGG!

I'm a little frustrated right now. Went quisai Christmas chopping with my mom (went to my work for breakfast and christmas cards, and then off to Joanns for some little things that were on sale.) Totally thought that I had got this totally awesome kit for a pal of mine for an awesome deal, only to have my mom pull off to the side of the road right before getting on the freeway in a panic that something was missing. And it was. :( Awesome thing is, is that the chick didn't even ring it up for us. We decided not to go back because that was the line from HELL! Went all the was to the back of the store... and we were pretty sure we wouldn't be able to get the 20% off on it. Lame, lame, LAME! Oh well, hopefully I'll either find something better or be able to find it again when it isn't so busy. But it's incredibly frustrating to think that you're done with someone on your long list, only to discover that your not. :(

Thanksgiving!

Was awesome. Even though neither of the cousin's made it and the guy was working... The food was awesome! Vegetarians do have fun on thanksgiving and I am so grateful (thankful, perhaps?) that both my mom and my aunt (the cooks) support my choices in life and sometimes even have fun with the challenge of me not eating meat! It's wonderful, it really is. And I love my family. I go most of a Christmas project done too.

Ps: The Cheesecake was intense. :D

Tuesday, I love you!

I have no class, and no work at either job... yes! So glad I have today to do whatever. So far I've baked a cheesecake, talked to Carla for almost 2 hours, sewn my dress back together (and it fits this time!) and have finished piecing together all but 4 more squares to crochet for someone's Christmas present!!! And it's only 2! :D Now I am going to change out of my pajamas, walk the dog, and perhaps make my way over to a Ross/Marshalls to shop for an outfit for John's graduation. I love having time!!! And then this evening I will go to Robin's choir concert, and hopefully Kenna or someone will come with me. Good day today!

Oh this weekend of mine...

is a beast and isn't quite over yet. It has been a marathon to say the least. I've had about 5 hours sleep these past few days... shouldn't be that bad, but I just wasn't haven't very good sleep. Oh well. I get three days off next week! :) I have a lot of cooking and crafting this next week! Hooray for me!

I'm back in action!

(so far!) Here's to hoping that it holds out indefinitely! (the internet that is!) This is the first time I've been able to get some stuff done on my lappy in over a week! Craziness!

That wrinkles my brain!

Oh Community.... always makes me feel a little better thinking of you. Especially when quotes totally work for my real life. Seriously. And it's not that the Internet STILL isn't working on my lappy.

No, it's because I cant make heads or tails of the stupid loan summaries that Sallie Mae keeps sending me. They make no sense. Then they send me and email apologising for them not making sense, but not including the edited one they say they have. WTF. Seriously. Lamers. 

I also had another one of my now frequent baby/pregnant dreams. This one was followed by an awesome wedding reception one. Where I'm in a horribly fabulous 80's blue prom dress that is supposed to be my own dress. Which I shamelessly butcher too short only to sew it up again, and don't feel the least bit upset about it either! Love it! Wish I could deal with life like that. Dreams are fun, especially when you have them frequently and vividly. Good times!

Still no internet.

SO I'm still bumming off my madre. Lame! So all the pictures I had loaded on my lappy to post, are still on my lappy and not on my interwebs. :( Stupid internet.....

I've said that, oh I don't know... a good 10 times since sunday. Because my computer is not, for whatever reason, getting my parents internet at my house or even our neighbors' who doesn't password protect theirs. It does however work at Robins' house. So I am using my madres' computer, because everyone gets internet but me. Boo.

I had my first night of real work at B&N last night, and it was a long night; 8 hours! It'll take some getting used too, I've only been working 2.5 hrs at the pool the past month or so, but it'll come back to me. I am also mentally constructing a list of items I need to buy. We have a lot of awesome junk! So good times there.

But other bad news: my brother is sick with whatever my parents had, which means I am next. :( Not okay with that... I don't like calling in sick to my regular job when I am sick... certainly don't want to call into my new job sick.... bad times. Bad times indeed.

Bobby-pins and knits

This is a purse I knitted some break I had some time ago. I really don't remember. I had it and the linning fabric laying around for a time now. I even blocked the beast to make sure it was amazing. And I'm fairly proud of how it came out. I got the pattern from the 2007 page-a-day Stitch and Bitch calendar. If I find the page I'll post it here. :) Not sure how I feel about the mix-matchy yarns and colors, but it give it a little bit of charm. Not sure if I'm going to keep it like originally intended, it may become a Christmas gift. :)
And this is the bobby-pin holder i made. I appologise for the terrible picture. But you know about my camera. It's cute. Not terribly awesome, but it gets the job done better than the last thing they were in. Which had been awesome before it broke. Sucky. :/ But then I am forced to get things did! I see it as a win-win situation. :D

Dilema.

I need a new camera. This is no secret, since breaking mine in Italy last summer and buying a cheap crappy one, I have lamented the loss of my dear old camera. My dad said he'd take a look at it forever ago, and I have heard nothing of it, and when I ask all I get is: "I've been busy." "I haven't had time." "I know what to do, but I haven't done it yet." And I love my dad, and I know he is capable of many things. But OMG has he gotten lazy. I'm not sure how, but if it's not bowling or work related (and even then) there is no guarantee it will ever get done. Exhibit A: our downstairs bathroom. It's been under construction for a good 6months-year (not sure since I was at school most of last year.) and nothings been done really. He did manage to close the gaping hole in our ceiling a month ago, but that's about it. Exhibit B: the spice rack. Dad has issues putting holes in the wall, so when I told him I was getting mom a spice organizer for Mother's day I also told him to pick it out so I knew it would be installed and used. 6 months later, it's still not installed and I'm feeling productive. So I do it (not without a lot of lamenting and moaning from him about how I'm doing it. WhichI'm more than capable of. I have a sufficient background in power tools and wood/metal/ styrofoam working- I can put in a 12"x3" spice shelf all by my own damn self)

The moral of this story is that I'm just gonna get a meaner, badder camera than the ones before it. For realsies. And I thought I knew which model I wanted, but now there's a new one thats cheaper, and honestly more realistic of me getting, but I'm not sure it stacks up to the one I wanted before. It's certainly cuter though. Opinions?

Oh christmas...

I have ideas galore! But how many will get done? Not as many as I'd like, I am sure. This may or may not mean that I post many pictures over the coming months, because I'm not sure if I want to give sneak peaks to some who will be receiving the presents. So there may be a ridiculously huge post come Dec 26. We'll see!

But my madre is crushing my dreams.... and calling me a 'country crafter' and claiming that I will be going to country craft fairs. :( Not that country is bad, just not my style. She just doesn't get me man! I"ll show her, and make some hideous things that she'll have to keep forever and hang and wear and use! Show her to dampen my creativity! :p

Halloween!

Super sucessful! Here's the finished product of 2 weeks intensive labor on John and I's Sonny and Cher costumes!!! I had many a snag in the process, and had to alter both his dress pattern and my vest pattern. Apparently I did learn something in school after all! :D

And just for Funzies; Robin and I raided her moms closet before taking out her brother and his friends out for trick-or-treating (which was rather strange and difficult for dealing with teenagers.)

The Lion King!

Holy crap was it amazing, I was crying within the first few minutes of it beginning. That's how spectacular it was! Oh and the puppets... the puppets...! I was blown away. I've seen pictures, and I've seen videos.... but in person it's something else! The only thing that I wasn't so fond of was Simba's singing voice, as a youngin' or and adult. Wasn't quite good at singing, but maybe they were just both having an off night. Who knows? Certainly didn't ruin the show for me, that's for sure! It's in town for another week or so, GO SEE IT! The cheapy tickets are only $22, and that's a bargain for this show, believe me!

I've got a Squid in my Pocket

I'm hoping to get some better pictures of the details. But that may mean a better camera. Which I don't have. :( Christmas perhaps! This is a two year project that is still a WIP. I started it when I lived in my studio, and when I packed it up to move, it never quite got unpacked the next 2 times. Whoops! But the embroidery part is done, I think. There may be some touches I add later if I deem it necessary. Now to crop them and wear them!

Halloween!

After I spent 2 hours scouring two fabric stores, I found the perfect pair of pants in a thrift store within 5 minutes. I love it! SO excited to be having a party this year. It makes me happy :)

Merengues

Apparently I am not good at them. As the non-waster I am, I attempted to use the egg whites I had left over from my padre's birthday dessert I made, and I failed. I'm not sure why they didn't whip... my guess is that I added to many spices before instead of after I whipped them :/ Something to master later I guess.

Carbunkle

Not the cute healing summon from Final Fantasy, the medieval sore on your side kind. It's what I had and am not treating this weekend. It's gross and stuffed full of packing right now. Besides being painful, it's kind of awesome. I'm on 2 different antibiotics, which so far have made me feel quite ill, and I have a prescription for vicodin, and I'm not really sure why because I walked out of there without even taking some Tylenol. Maybe I'm a beast. But the antibiotics make me queasy. :( And apparently I might have something like the staph bacteria, starts with and M and I can't remember the name, and if I do my whole family has to go get checked out! Fun times!

Halloween

There is what I thought was a bug bite and now am thinking is may be more on my right side, just behind where my arms rests, right next to my bra line. It's painful, and I am beginning to think that the hot compresses I've been doing to try and rid myself of it aren't helping. It burns quite a bit. If it doesn't clear up soon I think this may require a trip to the doctors. :(

Oldies but goodies!

The first project I ever knitted! And it has been my madre's favorite since!

The Lovely camera case I sewed and embroidered for my old camera.... I'm still waiting for my dad to fix it.

And the best one's! My classic Mario vs. Bowser Shoes! I wore them today, and I was inspired to create a new pair featuring Zelda!

Hurray!

Uploaded photoshop finally, and got my picture loaded to the lappy! so here's the run down:

First up: I bedazzled a cheap-o frame from Ikea with small mirror squares and then used silver puffy paint as grout, and it did not turn out how I planned on it.

Second: I also made myself a pair of short after I made my mom some (which I still need to photograph). They're kind of a work in progress because I need to fix some things.

Lastly: I painted my first painting ever! It's acrylic on canvas. I've had the canvas for like 6 years, os it's about time I used it! There are a lot of things I can improve on with the painting, but hey, it's my first and I'm happy with it!

I finally got some batteries for my good camera too, so I can get some good picture of my creations for a real portfolio! What a concept huh? I've been documenting my work for some years now for "when I get a portfolio together," and the lame-o I am just realized that I should put it together and add to it constantly. I'm amazing. So these are just some of the things I've done. I have more on the way and a long way to go to get this thing rockin'!

Wedding Dresses

Robin got hers today. It was weird, the whole time I felt very awkward, like I was just there to take up space, and that wasn't even necessary. I don't know why, her mom and cousin are always nice to me and talk with me, but it seemed kinda forced this time. Whatever, it was Robin's moment, and she got her dress that she wanted. It's nice, it looks really good on her. I'm glad she was able to make a decision on her first go, I don't think I'll be able too. I'm going to want to try on every kind of dress under the sun at as many places as I can afford to look at. And if I find my dream dress at that first store, then I'll go back for it later. But I am one of those people who just can't justify buying something that expensive without doing some comparison shopping first. But that's me, and we all know I'm super stingy and frugal. So I'm just as likely to get mine from a thrift shop or auction as I am getting one at a Bridal store. It's the nature of me. Maybe that was it, I'm just a different kind of shopper as they are and I wasn't sold on the first set of dresses. Eh, she looks great and I know Josh will like it too.

Oh this computer thang.

Is ridiculous. I'm reinstalling Microsoft Office right now, and it's 2007 not 2003 like I thought! Awesome! After this is photoshop, and I'll be happy. I'm getting irked at my mouse though. My touch pad has been touched too often, so I need to plug in a mouse to use, and it's not that awesome, it makes my pointer all wobbly and unstable. IRRITATING! Oh well, such is life. Once office is up I will have pictures of the last few things I've added up. Until then, you can enjoy some inspiration for my Halloween costume this year!

The progress of my Lappy...

is slow. I forgot what a pain restoring my computer was. Or I just don't remember how to do it quickly. Boo! Oh well, I should have some new projects up here soonish... I got batteries for my non-digital camera, so I can get some quality pictures for my portfolio and not the shabby ones I post here! And I am also for sure, definitely going to need to get a second job here. So as soon as I am done with this, that is what I am going to do! Job hunting! w007!

Schedules

Are lame. I am finally home for goodsies and all my friends are at school. On top of that, since my seasonal job is off season there is lame-o hours! I was smart enough to take a guitar class through community and a pattern making class through continuing education, but it is not the same time filler as being a full-time student or lifeguard during the summer. :( On the bright side I have tons of time to get some projects going. I estimate I have 4 or so going on right now? Something like that. And I just finished my first painting ever!!! (on canvas that is! :p) After I refurbish my lappy I'll load the pictures here! I also need to load the pictures of the shorts I made my mom... I need to fix those as well!

Flip

Ahahaa! Flip is napping against my leg, and is having his puppy dreams like normal, but on top of his usual twitching is some teeth bearing and growling and it is hilarious!

Here is the last project I finished- John's Birthday socks to replace the one's I made him a few years back. (Can't believe that I've been making socks for two years!) Like how I ran out of yarn? Then ran out of yarn again? He did. And I kinda do too.

Oh the time...

I fail miserably at it. I know that I've let this thing fall to shit the past few years, but I just don't have the drive to post here like I used too. No more teen angst. :( Though I do know that once in a blue moon a friend or two checks here just in case.... And I've been thinking, for maybe today now. It's not the first time I've thought of it, but now I'm seriously considering turing this lil' blog o'mine into a display of my craftiness and the such. I think that if I am encouraged (by myself of course) to post my projects here when I am done, not only will I be forcing myself to built a portfolio, but I will also be able to expand on my thoughts about it and record problems and changes I have made to said projects for future reference. Smart, no? But that requires some sort of dedication.... and we'll see if I can't scrounge some up now that I"m not working. :)
